Major Seizure of Illegal Goods in Kirkham Operation

As part of ongoing efforts to tackle illegal trading across Fylde, a joint operation was carried out yesterday in Kirkham involving Lancashire Trading Standards and Lancashire Police.

The operation resulted in a significant seizure of counterfeit cigarettes and illegal vapes, along with a large quantity of cash. This action highlights the scale of illegal trading activity and the need for continued enforcement.

Illegal trading is far from victimless. It undercuts legitimate local businesses, fuels organised crime, and puts public health at risk — particularly where unregulated vape products are involved.

Commenting on the operation, Cllr Joshua Roberts said:

“This kind of activity is not victimless. It undercuts legitimate local businesses, fuels organised crime, and puts public health at risk — especially with unregulated vape products.
I want to thank all officers involved for their work on this operation. We will continue to take action against illegal trading across Fylde and Lancashire.”
