Campaigns & Petitions

Get involved in our campaigns and petitions, helping us tackle the important local issues that residents have raised with our councillors.

Save Our Public Swimming Baths

Kirkham Baths has been closed since December 2021, and St Annes Pool closed in March 2026, leaving thousands of local residents without the leisure facilities they rely on. We're campaigning to protect, restore and invest in these vital community assets so that families, schools, swimming clubs and people of all ages once again have access to quality local leisure facilities across Fylde.

Wrea Green Roundabout

We're raising concerns about safety and traffic flow at the Wrea Green roundabout, campaigning for improvements to reduce congestion, improve visibility, and make the junction safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike.

Mowbreck Lane Housing Development

We're opposing the planning application for up to 128 homes on greenfield land off Mowbreck Lane (planning reference 26/0216), standing up for local residents by protecting our green spaces, challenging inappropriate development, and ensuring local infrastructure is not put under further pressure.

Name The New Council

The new council covering Fylde, Wyre and Blackpool currently has a working name. Fylde Coast Council.

It's not final. This week county councillors can put forward alternatives, but any suggestion needs the backing of at least seven of us and has to be in by 5pm Friday.

I'm backing Lancashire West. It's a compass bearing so people know where it is, and it keeps Lancashire in the name. Our county shouldn't disappear off the map because of a reorganisation nobody voted for.

A few rules from government. No "City" in the name. No Northern or Southern. No dashes.

Beyond that it's open. Vote in the poll, and if you've got a better idea, put it in the comments. If enough of you get behind something, I'll put it forward.

Video below with the full details.

Deadline is Friday 7th August. Don't hang about.
