Jewish New Year in St Annes

County Councillor for Fylde East Joshua Roberts has visited St Annes Hebrew Congregation to wish residents across Fylde a happy Jewish New Year.

Cllr Joshua Roberts joined Rabbi Danny Bergson at the synagogue ahead of Rosh Hashanah, which begins at sunset on Friday 11 September.

Rabbi Bergson thanked Joshua and the Reform Lancashire team for their support during what has been a difficult few years for the Jewish community.

He also used the visit to wish everyone in Fylde a Shana Tova Umetukah, a happy and sweet New Year.

Rabbi Danny Bergson said:

"Rosh Hashanah is actually for everybody. It's not just the commemoration of the creation of the world. It's the creation of human beings, and what it means to be a human being created in the image of God.
"That is to live a life towards meaning, towards a higher purpose."

County Councillor for Fylde East Joshua Roberts said:

"I was delighted to join Rabbi Danny at the beautiful synagogue in St Annes to wish everyone in Fylde and Lancashire a very happy New Year.
"This festival is for everyone in Fylde, and across Lancashire, to live together in harmony. It's something the Rabbi has been promoting, and something Reform Lancashire is promoting too."

Reform Fylde wishes all residents a good and sweet New Year.
