Residents in Fylde South are beginning to see visible progress as road improvement works get underway on Lytham Road in Warton.
County Councillor David Dwyer has began the start of the works, highlighting that they form part of a wider commitment to address years of underinvestment in the local road network.
“We inherited a budget that allocated just £40 million to roads. That has now been increased to over £70 million, following the passing of our new budget last month,”
“With the funding now in place, we’re getting on with the job. As conditions improve with warmer and drier weather, we can begin more extensive surface dressing and longer-lasting repairs.”
The works on Lytham Road are part of a broader programme of improvements planned across Fylde, with further schemes already scheduled in the coming weeks and months.

Cllr Dwyer added:
“These types of repairs require the right conditions to ensure they are done properly and last. Residents will start to see real, long-term improvements very soon.”
The council has confirmed that additional roads across Fylde South are already being assessed and prioritised as part of the ongoing investment programme.
