I’m David Chambers, and with over 35 years of deep-rooted commitment to Kirkham, I’m proud to stand for election to represent the community I’ve long called home. I moved to Kirkham for work and dedicated 40 years to public service in the Civil Service, culminating in a senior leadership role at the Ministry of Justice. That experience taught me how to get things done, navigate complex systems, and fight for what matters. These are skills I now want to use for the benefit of our community.
Beyond my professional career, I’ve always believed in the power of community. A lifelong music and radio enthusiast, I led Preston FM and helped run several hospital radio stations, bringing people together through communication and creativity. My family lives here, my grandchildren attend local schools, and my grandsons proudly play for our local football teams. I understand the everyday hopes and challenges faced by local families because they are my own.
Kirkham and its surrounding areas offer so much, but they deserve better. The continued closure of Kirkham Swimming Baths is a painful symbol of lost local services. I will fight to explore every avenue to protect the amenities our town deserves.
I serve as a Trustee for Fylde Citizens Advice and volunteer as a welfare officer for the RAF Association, supporting people through times of need. That’s what I will continue to do if elected: stand up for everyone, listen to all voices, and deliver real results for local people, regardless of political background.
This election is about our town, our families, and our future. With your support, I will bring strong, experienced, and compassionate leadership to Kirkham.
